Bellshill
Bellshill is a town in North Lanarkshire, Scotland. It's situated ten miles south east of Glasgow city centre and 37 miles to the west of Edinburgh, as well as being close to other towns such as Motherwell, Hamilton and Coatbridge. Since 1996, it has been a part of the Greater Glasgow metropolitan area. Since the middle of the 1980s, the town has been recognised specifically for creating respected and influential popular music, with bands like the Soup Dragons, BMX Bandits and Teenage Fanclub hailing from the town. A Channel 4 TV series, 'Sounds of the Suburbs', celebrated the music of the area, commonly known as the 'Bellshill Sound' or the 'Bellshill Beat'.
