Ponding is where you see pools of water appearing on your flat roof. Unless your roof is leaking or showing other signs of damage, you don’t need to replace it. When you do have your flat roof replaced, tell the contractor so they can find out the cause of the ponding.
Berriedale
Berriedale is a little estate village on the north eastern coastline of Caithness, Scotland, on the A9 road in between Helmsdale and also Lybster, near to the border in between Caithness as well as Sutherland. It is protected from the North Sea. The town has a parish church in the Church of Scotland. Simply south of Berriedale, en route to the north, the A9 passes the Berriedale Braes, a steep drop in the landscape (brae is a Scots word for hill, a loaning of the Scottish Gaelic bràighe). The roadway drops down considerably (13% over 1,3 km) to connect a river, prior to climbing once again (13% over 1,3 km), with a number of sharp bends in the road-- although some of the barrette bends and various other close-by gradients have been eased recently. The impracticality (and expense) of linking the Berriedale Braes protected against the building of the Inverness-Wick Far North Line along the eastern shore of Caithness; instead the railway runs inland through the Flow Country. Berriedale is located at the end of the 8th phase of the seaside John o' Groats Path.
