Attleborough
Attleborough is a market town and civil parish between Norwich and Thetford within Norfolk, England. The parish is in the district of Breckland and has an area of 21.9 square kilometres (8.5 square miles). Attleborough is within the Mid-Norfolk constituency of the UK Parliament. Attleborough railway station is on a main line rail service to both Norwich and Cambridge. The 2001 Census recorded the town as having a permanent resident population of 9702 distributed between 4185 households. It grew to a population of 10482 in 4481 households in the 2011 Census. The very first turnpike road in England is reported to have been developed here at the end of the 17th century. The first estate programme started with the establishment of the council-owned Cyprus Estate which has since been added to by other private housing schemes, such as Fairfields and Ollands built mostly during the 1970s and a substantial estate on the south side of the town in the 1990s.
