Torrington
Great Torrington (commonly abbreviated to Torrington, though the towns of Little Torrington and Black Torrington are situated in the exact same region) is a small market town in the north of Devon, England. Parts of it are sited on high ground with high drops down to the River Torridge below, with the lower-lying parts of the town susceptible to occasional flooding. Torrington remains in the centre of Tarka Country, a landscape captured by Henry Williamson in his unique Tarka the Otter in 1927. Great Torrington has among the most energetic offering neighborhoods in the UK. In July 2019, Great Torrington was reported to be the healthiest area to live in Britain. Researchers from the University of Liverpool discovered that the location had reduced degrees of air pollution, excellent access to green room and health services, together with few retail outlets.
