Cairndow
Cairndow is a coastal community, on the Cowal peninsula in Argyll and Bute, Scottish Highlands. The town lies in between the A83 road and also the head of Loch Fyne. Cairndow's school closed in 1988 after the roll was up to just 3 students. Now kids in the location are sent to the primary school in Strachur as well as the senior high school in Dunoon. Medical facilities for the district are offered by the General Practitioner in Strachur. Kilmorich Church at Cairndow was built in 1818 and also is a group A provided building. After originating as an oyster ranch in the loch, Loch Fyne Oysters opened its Loch Fyne Oyster Bar in 1988 at Clachan, across the head of the loch from Cairndow. The firm has expanded into a restaurant chain, and the Oyster Bar remains to be a visitor attraction at Clachan, Cairndow.
