There are several different kinds of plastering. ‘Dot and dab’ refers to a base layer of plasterboard which is attached to a wall using ‘dabs’ of adhesive. ‘Floating’ is a technique where a backing or undercoat plaster is applied to walls. ‘Skimming’ or ‘reskimming’ refers to the very thin final decorative layer of plaster.

North Ferriby is a village and civil parish in the Haltemprice area of the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. Ferriby parish had a population of 3,893, an increase on the 2001 UK census figure of 3,819 according to the 2011 UK census. The institution has approximately 300 pupils. North Ferriby is on the north bank of the Humber Estuary, roughly 8 miles (13 km) west of Hull city centre. To the north, atop a hillside, exists Swanland using the B1231. South Ferriby is directly contrary the town, on the south bank of the Humber. North Ferriby is usually referred to as "Ferriby" by locals on the north bank, except where complication may develop. Melton is close by to the west which is where the big South Hunsley School is. North Ferriby lies in the Parliamentary constituency of Haltemprice and also Howden.
