Shifnal
Shifnal is a market community and also civil parish in Shropshire, England, regarding 3 miles (5 kilometres) eastern of Telford. It has a railway station on the Shrewsbury-Wolverhampton Line and is near the M54 motorway. At the 2001 census, it had a population of 6,391, raising to 6,776 at the 2011 census. With a lot of on-going housing developments this is expected to pass 10,000 by 2020. In late 2018 prepare for a 2nd, much bigger expansion of Shifnal, were disclosed by Shropshire County Council. The propositions, which triggered significant local controversy and also caused a public meeting, included approximately another 1,500 residences, 40 hectares of employment land and a bypass south of the town by 2036. Big areas of farmland would be needed for the development.
