Saxmundham
Saxmundham is a small market town in Suffolk, England, set in the valley of the River Fromus concerning 18 miles (29 kilometres) north-east of Ipswich and also 5 miles (8.0 km) west of the coast at Sizewell. The town is bypassed by the A12. It is served by Saxmundham train station on the East Suffolk Line. Saxmundham Town Council comes under the brand-new East Suffolk District. It was previously in Suffolk Coastal District. The area selecting ward also has the name Saxmundham. Its population at the 2011 census was 4,913. The community's name supposedly stems from the Old English "Seizmond's Home". The earliest recorded reference of Saxmundham remains in the Domesday Book of 1086 which mentions 3 churches. It has had a market charter given that a minimum of 1272 as well as carries on the custom to now.
