Painting / Decorating in Dronfield

Interior painting can be a very economical way to reinvigorate the interior of your house. Painting is often completed as a DIY project, but qualified painters and decorators can ensure an immaculate finish and ensure that your redecorating is going to look its best for as long as possible.

The key to effective painting is planning. Carefully decide on a paint shade or think about applying two shades to make an accent wall. Also take into consideration the finish, as paints come in varied finishes for example, gloss, satin, egg shell or matte. Gloss and satin will stand up better in high traffic areas. There is a significant variety of suppliers and paints that can be bought so it's a good idea to to search around to choose the paint that's perfect for your space.

Interior painters and decorators can supply you with plenty of recommendations about paint and help you select the perfect colour scheme for your internal spaces.

Dronfield

Dronfield is a town in North East Derbyshire in the North Midlands region of England. It is made up of three neighborhoods, which are Dronfield, Dronfield Woodhouse and Coal Aston. It is located in the valley of the River Drone, and sits in between the town of Chesterfield and the city of Sheffield. Dronfield encompasses an area of 3457 acres, and the A61 trunk road, Dronfield-Unstone Bypass, cuts through the town. Being in close proximity to the Pennines, Dronfield also has convenient access to the Peak District National Park, which is 3 miles away. It is considered that the town was in existence preceding the 1086 Domesday Book, and it has a 12th-century parish church. Dronfield has a past history of production, with coal mining, the wool trade, the production of soap and steel, and engineering being the most prominent markets. Some manufacturing companies continue to work within the town. The population of Dronfield has actually undergone substantial development since the post-war years, going from 6500 in 1945 to 21000 in 2011. This is somewhat the effect of the town's position as a dormitory community for workers from neighboring Chesterfield and Sheffield. The town is said to be the home of the largest independently owned housing estate in Europe, called Gosforth Valley, when it was developed in the 1970s. In spite of development and modernisation, the town has preserved its ancient character, with many historical structures staying unscathed. Occupants have a lot of opportunities for shopping at independent and commercial chain shops, visiting libraries and attending leisure centres. The world's oldest football team, Sheffield F. C., is based in the football stadium to the north of the town. For all your house upgrades, make sure to make use of reliable specialists in Dronfield to make certain of quality.

FAQs

how much do painters and decorators charge?

How Much Do Painters And Decorators Charge?

If you’re thinking about painting your home or property, then one of the first things that crosses the mind is the amount charged by painter or decorators to carry out the project. However just like any other home improvement projects and as with most tradesmen, the amount charged by a painter and decorator largely varies from job to job depending on a plethora of factors. These factors include your location, the urgency at which you need the job done and whether or not a specialist equipment would be required.

For painters and decorators, one of the biggest influencing factors that determines the price to be charged is the size of the room. For instance, if you have a large room to be painted, it’s definitely going to cost you more than a smaller room. And same applies to multiple rooms when compared to single room. In other words, to get a more accurate cost estimate from your tradesman, you’ll need to have a good idea of the size of your room or rooms. So let’s take a closer look!

✓ Painting a mid-sized room. The question here is, how do you know if your room is medium sized? The room will have a size of about 3.5m by 5m or a room that can conveniently allow up to 6 to 8 people. The price range is between £240 to £410.

✓ Wallpapering a mid-sized room. This uses the logic as painting a mid-sized room but the price can differ due to difference in materials used. The price range here is between £204 to £420.

✓ Painting a large ceiling. Painting a ceiling is very similar to painting a wall but its not as straightforward and will consume more time. The price ranges from £286 to £5476.

can you paint over wallpaper?

Can You Paint Over A Wallpaper?

According to some painting and decoration experts, painting over a wallpaper can never produce a result that’ll be as good as painting on a blank or naked wall. However in the event whereby there’s a pressing need to quickly beautify a room, it’ll be totally understandable if you don’t want to go through the hassle of the time consuming old wallpaper removal process.

Therefore, the short and simple answer to this question is yes, it’s absolutely possible to paint over a wallpaper and get a good outcome so far you don’t rush the process. To ensure your success if you want to paint over a wallpaper, there’s also the need to use the right tools and techniques. And just like any other DIY project, proper preparation before commencement is key.

If you’re going to paint over a wallpaper, many of the tools you’ll need to acquire are the standard painting and decorating products. This means that they can be easily procured at many DIY stores. To paint over a wallpaper, you’ll need a paint roller, top quality paint brushes, joint compound ( you’ll only need this in situations whereby your wallpaper is damaged or peeling), oil based primer, tape, sandpaper, paint ( can be water, solvent or oil based paints) as well as drop clothes ( for the protection of your furnitures).

As a rule of thumb, if you can easily remove the existing wallpaper, then you probably should before you start to paint the walls. However, if removing the wallpaper seems to be a pain or can significantly damage your wall, then it’ll be smart to simply paint over it. But before you proceed, you must also note that painting over the wallpaper will make it even harder to remove later in the future.

How much for a painter to paint a room?

How Much For A Painter To Paint A Room?

If you’re looking to have your room painted, it’s only normal to get an idea of how much it’s going to cost so you can set a budget and start planning. As you would have expected, the cost of having a room painted is dependent on a wide array of influencing factors such as the size of your room, the type of paint to be used, your location and many more. As a result, providing a single and accurate answer to this question is almost impossible.

Generally, a regular 4 metres by 3 metres room will take just a couple of days to be fully painted including both the coving and woodwork. Outside London, most painters and decorators would charge within the range of £150 to £200 per day meaning that you’ll have a total labour cost within the range of £300 to £400. What’s more? You’d also have to consider the price of the paint to be used which is usually around £50. If you add all the costs together you’ll get an average cost of about £400 to £500.

Unfortunately, paint does not last an eternity. Therefore, there’ll come a time where you’d have to consider painting your room all over again. It may seem unwise to employ the services of a professional painter and decorator especially if you’re on a budget. However, in truth, calling in a professional can go a long way to save you time, stress and money. In other words, even if you’re worried about the cost, a professional painter is still your best bet in the long run as they know exactly what to do to ensure you derive maximum benefits from your painting project.
