Interior painting can be a really reasonably priced means to rejuvenate the inside of your house. Painting is sometimes carried out as a DIY project, but experienced painters and decorators can make sure of a flawless finish and make sure that your decoration is going to last as long as possible.

The primary element to successful painting is planning. Carefully decide on a paint colour or consider utilising two to produce an accent wall. Additionally think about the sheen, as paints come in several finishes for example, gloss, satin, egg shell or matte. Gloss and satin will stand up better in high traffic areas. There's a considerable assortment of suppliers and paints available to buy so it's a good idea to to shop around to select the paint that's ideal for your room.

Abbey Wood

Abbey Wood is a residential area of South East London in the London Boroughs of Greenwich and Bexley. It takes its name from Lesnes Abbey Wood, which used to belong to the monks of Lesnes Abbey. It is placed south of Thamesmead and is 10.6 miles east of Charing Cross. Abbey Wood has a population of just under 24,000 and is known to be a quiet area.

The district is popular amid commuters; it has an average age of 34 and its railway station was opened in 1849 and today it provides services to Charing Cross, Cannon Street and areas in Kent as a loop service. There are also buses that offer links to Thamesmead, Lewisham and Peckham.

Abbey Wood is recognised for its caravan park situated amongst the Abbey Woods. The woods provide a park and a football pitch, and the nearby Bostall Gardens and Bostall Heath offer lots of sports facilities. An area of the woods is a site of special scientific interest because it has fossils that date back as far as 23-66 million years ago.

If you are searching for some household improvements for your house in Abbey Wood, ensure that you compare and contrast quotes from vetted firms before signing a contract.

Hence, if you lack the confidence to pull this off, then we’d recommend employing a painting expert who can guarantee the best results for help. In this guide, we’ll should you how you can prepare your wall for painting.

✓ Cleaning. There is no single best way to properly clean a wall, but most walls will be just fine with a sponge and warm water. Then leave to dry off properly.

✓ Remove mildrew. Wipe out mildrew using a sponge and solution that’s three to four parts water to one part bleach. Apply this solution and scrub the affected surface with a soft brush.

✓ Sanding. This step is only meant for walls with rough spots on its surface. Dull the uneven spots with a sandpaper, wipe away the dust and leave to dry. Use a fine grit sandpaper to sand the surfaces and let it dry properly.

✓ Priming. Prime the wall to get the most out of your paint. They work to disguise imperfections and create a smooth surface on which you can work on.

• Prepare the room

✓ Remove all objects as much as you can from the room and cover the remaining furniture or objects with a sheet.

✓ Wash the wall with the help of a damp sponge. A sugar soap or diluted washing up liquid will work just fine.

✓ Tape the edges of objects you do not wish to paint like light switches, plug sockets and the likes.

• For the second coat, simply repeat the above step to complete your painting project.

How long should I wait after plastering to paint my walls?
