Studley
Studley is a big town and also civil parish in the Stratford-on-Avon area of Warwickshire, England. Situated on the western edge of Warwickshire near the border with Worcestershire it is 4 miles (6 km) southeast of Redditch and also 13 miles (21 km) northwest of Stratford-upon-Avon. The Roman road of Ryknild Street, currently the A435, passes through the village on its eastern side, alongside the River Arrow. The name stems from the Old English leah, being a meadow or pasture, where horses, stod, are maintained. Studley is in some cases declared to be the biggest village in England, nevertheless, this is incorrect as it is not even the largest village in Warwickshire. Although Polesworth and Bulkington are larger, by population, they could be classified as a rural. The UK Census 2001 reported Studley's population as being 6,624, reducing to 5,879 at the 2011 Census.
