Dalbeattie
Dalbeattie is a community in the historical area of Kirkcudbrightshire in Dumfries and also Galloway, Scotland. Dalbeattie is in a woody valley on the Urr Water 6 kilometres (4 mi) eastern of Castle Douglas and 19 km (12 mi) south west of Dumfries. The community is well known for its granite industry as well as for being the house town of William McMaster Murdoch, the First Officer of the RMS Titanic. The Dalbeattie War Memorial was designed by Pilkington Jackson and also was unveiled in 1921.
