Tayport
Tayport, also called Ferry-Port on Craig, is a community and burgh, and also parish, in the area of Fife, Scotland, serving as a commuter community for Dundee. The slogan of the Burgh is Te oportet alte ferri ("It is incumbent on you to carry on your own high"), a pun on Tayport at auld Tay Ferry. Tayport lies close to the north east suggestion of Fife. To the north it looks across the River Tay to Broughty Ferry and also Broughty Castle. To the eastern is the substantial Tentsmuir Nature Reserve, a location of forested dunes gauging some 3 kilometres from eastern to west as well as 6 km from north to south and bordered by vast sands that continue all the way round to the mouth of the River Eden. The civil parish of Ferry-Port on Craig has a population of 3,815 (in 2011).
