Maesteg is a town and community in the ceremonial county of Mid Gamorgan and in Bridgend County Borough, Wales. It is located at the north end of the Llynfi Valley, near to the border with Neath Port Talbot. Similar to the rest of Wales, the English and Welsh languages make up the town's official languages. Despite the fact that a significant percentage of residents are natural English speakers, there is a small area of the community that speak Welsh. Of the 20612 inhabitants noted in the 2011 Census, 11 percent of the town's population speak Welsh. There are major distinctions between age groups, with 27.9 per cent of 3 to 15 year olds speaking Welsh, 8.6 per cent of 16 to 64 year olds, and the smallest percentage being amongst the over 65s at 5.3 per cent. The opening of ironworks in the 1820s and 1830s stimulated the expansion of the town. Between 1890 and 1925, Maesteg held a global status as a producer of Admiralty-grade steam coal, high quality cooking coal and the leading house coal in South Wales. By the early 1920s, 7000 miners operated in the town. With the decline of the coal market and the closure of the last pit in 1985, the town is now characterised as being more residential and domiciliary in nature, predominately for the Port Talbot, Bridgend and Cardiff journey to work areas. Established in 1881, Maesteg Market continues to be a well-attended market, which is situated on the ground floor of Maesteg Town Hall and a large range of goods are available. The town is additionally recognised for its strong music and singing tradition, being the home of numerous choirs and bands. For all of your house upgrades, make sure to make use of credible contractors in Maesteg to make certain of quality.

Your LPG storage tank will need to go outside your property, possibly underground if you have limited space. There are planning rules that restrict where you can put your tank, especially if your property is listed or on designated land. Take a look at our planning permission article to find out more.
If you choose to install an LPG boiler, you’ll need to find an LPG supplier. They’ll deliver fuel to you every time your storage tank runs low. You can even rent a storage tank from them if you don’t want to buy one. Make sure you know who your local suppliers are and where they are based.
Your LPG storage tank should have a gauge that shows you how much fuel it has in it. Most LPG suppliers suggest that you arrange a fuel delivery when the level in your tank gets down to about 20%. Make regular checks, particularly in the winter when you will use more, so you know when levels are low.
LPG stands for liquid petroleum gas. It’s a by-product of refined crude oil. When it’s put under pressure, LPG turns into a liquid. It’s usually stored in this form. LPG is used as fuel for things like BBQs and camping stoves, as well as central heating.
