Bargoed is a town in the Rhymney Valley, one of the South Wales Valleys. It is situated along the Rhymney River inside the county borough of Caerphilly, and it occupies the ancient border of Glamorgan and Monmouthshire, with Bargoed historically lying inside the old county of Glamorganshire whereas Aberbargoed was within the old county of Monmouthshire. It's unsurprising, therefore, that the English meaning of the town's name is 'border'. According to the 2011 Census, the town boasts a permanent resident population of approximately 11900. Initially a market town, Bargoed grew into a successful town after the opening of a colliery in 1903. By 1921, Bargoed had a permanent resident population of approximately 17,901; it has been progressively declining ever since, as the overall demand for Welsh coal fell. The colliery, which was the subject of a painting by L. S. Lowry, closed down during the 1980s, and its former site has been turned into a country park. The town has in recent years been undergoing a major redevelopment scheme, which incorporated a bypass running through the valley with links to the town centre. The renovation of the Grade II* listed Hanbury Street Baptist chapel into a public library is among the most recognisable characteristics of the redevelopment, which contains a council services helpdesk, a computer suite, a coffee lounge, along with a compact chapel. The pipe organ remains positioned in its traditional dominant position looking over the main ground floor area, whilst the Erstwhile chapel gallery possesses a substantial collection of reference and other books. For all your house improvement projects, ensure that that you utilise vetted experts in Bargoed to ensure that you get the top quality service.

If you choose to install an LPG boiler, you’ll need to find an LPG supplier. They’ll deliver fuel to you every time your storage tank runs low. You can even rent a storage tank from them if you don’t want to buy one. Make sure you know who your local suppliers are and where they are based.
LPG stands for liquid petroleum gas. It’s a by-product of refined crude oil. When it’s put under pressure, LPG turns into a liquid. It’s usually stored in this form. LPG is used as fuel for things like BBQs and camping stoves, as well as central heating.
Your LPG storage tank should have a gauge that shows you how much fuel it has in it. Most LPG suppliers suggest that you arrange a fuel delivery when the level in your tank gets down to about 20%. Make regular checks, particularly in the winter when you will use more, so you know when levels are low.
Your LPG storage tank will need to go outside your property, possibly underground if you have limited space. There are planning rules that restrict where you can put your tank, especially if your property is listed or on designated land. Take a look at our planning permission article to find out more.
