Leominster

Leominster is a market town in the English county of Herefordshire. It lies at the confluence of the River Lugg and its tributary the River Kenwater, around 12 miles (19 kilometres) north of the city of Hereford and about 7 miles south of the Shropshire border, 11 miles from Ludlow in Shropshire. Leominster train station has services to Manchester, going through Ludlow and Cardiff, and connections to London are acquired by changing at Hereford. With a permanent population of around 11691 people, according to the 2011 Census, Leominster is the largest of the five towns Leominster, Ross-on-Wye, Ledbury, Bromyard and Kington in the county neighbouring the City of Hereford. From 1974 to 1996, Leominster functioned as the administrative centre for the previous regional government district of Leominster District. The town takes its name from a minster, which is a group of clergy in the district of Lene or Leon. Throughout the Early Middle Ages, Leominster was home to Æthelmod of Leominster, an English saint known to history mainly through the hagiography of the Secgan Manuscript. He is said to be buried in Leominster. Leominster is also the historic birthplace of Ryeland sheep, a species formerly famed for its 'Lemster' wool, known as 'Lemster ore'. This wool was esteemed above all other English wool in trade with the continent of Europe in the Middle Ages. It was the income and prosperity from this wool trade that developed the town and the minster and tempted the envy of the Welsh and other regions. For all of your home renovations, make sure to identify dependable experts in Leominster to make certain of quality.

FAQs

How do I know when I need more fuel delivering for my LPG boiler?

Your LPG storage tank should have a gauge that shows you how much fuel it has in it. Most LPG suppliers suggest that you arrange a fuel delivery when the level in your tank gets down to about 20%. Make regular checks, particularly in the winter when you will use more, so you know when levels are low.

Where can I put an LPG storage tank?

Your LPG storage tank will need to go outside your property, possibly underground if you have limited space. There are planning rules that restrict where you can put your tank, especially if your property is listed or on designated land. Take a look at our planning permission article to find out more.

What’s LPG?

LPG stands for liquid petroleum gas. It’s a by-product of refined crude oil. When it’s put under pressure, LPG turns into a liquid. It’s usually stored in this form. LPG is used as fuel for things like BBQs and camping stoves, as well as central heating.

How do I get fuel for my LPG boiler?

If you choose to install an LPG boiler, you’ll need to find an LPG supplier. They’ll deliver fuel to you every time your storage tank runs low. You can even rent a storage tank from them if you don’t want to buy one. Make sure you know who your local suppliers are and where they are based.
