Milnthorpe
Milnthorpe is a huge village and also selecting ward within the South Lakeland area of Cumbria, England. Historically part of Westmorland and also straddling the A6 road, the community has numerous old hostelries as well as hosts a market in The Square every Friday. The parish and also ward of Milnthorpe had a population of 2,106 recorded in the 2001 census, raising to 2,199 at the 2011 Census. Each August, the Friends of the Exhibition holds its yearly art exhibit in the church. Milnthorpe has two steel bands, one for adults and also the other based in the community's junior school. The grade I listed house Dallam Tower, with an estate recognized for its deer, stands close to the River Bela simply south-west of Milnthorpe, whilst St Anthony's Tower may be seen on the top of St Anthony's Hill to the north-east of the community centre, forgeting the town and the housing estate of Owlet Ash Fields in nearby Ackenthwaite. It has one senior high school, called Dallam School, and one primary school, called Milnthorpe Primary School. There are 3 public houses in the town.
