Kinlochleven
Kinlochleven is a village located in Lochaber, in the Scottish Highlands as well as exists at the eastern end of Loch Leven. To the north lie the Mamores ridge; to the south lie the mountains flanking Glen Coe. The town was created from 2 previously different tiny areas - Kinlochmore to the north of the River Leven in Inverness-shire and Kinlochbeg to the south of the Leven in Argyll - following the building of an aluminium smelter and linked real estate for its staff members. The processing plant was powered by a hydroelectric scheme located in the mountains over, as well as made Kinlochleven the initial town worldwide to have every residence attached to electrical energy, creating the phrase "The Electric Village". In 1991, the town (according to yearly census returns) had simply over 1000 inhabitants in some 420 families. Today it is a noteworthy traveler location and centre for mountain searches.
