Ingatestone
Ingatestone is a town in Essex, England, with a population of about 5,000. To the immediate north exists the town of Fryerning, and also together both form the civil parish of Ingatestone and Fryerning. Ingatestone exists within Metropolitan Green Belt land 20 miles (32 kilometres) north-east of London. The built-up area is greatly situated between the A12 trunk road and the Great Eastern Main Railway Line. Today it is a wealthy commuter village. The civil parish for the location is controlled by Ingatestone and Fryerning Parish Council. Given that 1974 the village has been within the District of Brentwood, although in earlier times the parish became part of Chelmsford Rural district, Chelmsford Rural Sanitary District, and Chelmsford Poor Law Union. The town lies within the Chelmsford Hundred. Ingatestone has 2 conservation areas, one covering the railway station and Terminal Lane, as well as the other safeguarding the central buying area of High Street.
