Dunmow
Great Dunmow is a historic market town and also civil parish in the Uttlesford district of Essex, England. It is located on the north of the A120 road, approximately midway between Bishop's Stortford as well as Braintree, 6 miles east of London Stansted Airport. Originally the site of a Roman negotiation on Stane Street, the town thrived during the Middle Ages. Many buildings endure from this duration, including a sixteenth-century town hall. Dunmow implies "Meadow on capital". [4] The settlement was variously referred to as Dunmow Magna, Much Dunmow, or many frequently Great Dunmow. Great Dunmow surrounds the former estate of Easton Lodge in the neighbouring church of Little Easton, a country house belonging to the Maynard household. The most noteworthy member, Frances Maynard, ended up being the Countess of Warwick and later on a mistress of King Edward VII. As the Prince of Wales he was reportedly a regular site visitor to the Estate, taking a trip from London on the train to Easton Lodge railway station. The initials "CW" are visible on a number of Victorian era residential or commercial properties in Great Dunmow. Referred To As Daisy Greville, Countess of Warwick she was a charitable philanthropist in the regional neighborhood. As of 2018, Robert Nicholson is Emeritus Mayor of Great Dunmow.
