Blaydon-on-tyne
The town of Blaydon-on-Tyne is in the North East of England within the Metropolitan Borough of Gateshead. It was initially in County Durham. As recorded in the 2011 Census, the town has a permanent resident population of 15,000, which is a significant increase from the about 14,648 residents recorded in the 2001 Census. Blaydon underwent an intensive programme of housing regeneration between 2009 and 2014. This included the improvement of new developments at High View on the Winlaton-Blaydon border, by the riverside on the location of the former Stella South power station, and at Axwell Gardens, near to the already current Axwell Park estate.
