Abbots Bromley
Settled in Staffordshire in the West Midlands, Abbots Bromley is a little historic village. It is well-known for its yearly Horn Dance held on Wakes Monday, the day following the first Sunday after 4th September. The Horn Dance is a folk dance from the Middle Ages where members dance through the village. In 2001, Abbots Bromley had a population of 1,799. The village can be traced back to 942, and is recorded in the Domesday Book.
Abbots Bromley is situated 6.8 miles south west of Uttoxeter. The closest railway station is at Rugeley which is 5.8 miles south west of the village. 1.8 miles from the centre of the village is the Blithfield Reservoir, which is a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
Abbots Bromley also shows the natural features of Bagot's Wood and the greatest remaining part of the Needwood Forest, an ancient forest lost at the end of the 18th century.
