Garage transformation industry experts in Studley

For those who have a unused garage area, why not think about a conversion within Studley and make the most from the home. Take a look at around four free quotations with this service and find the very best price for a conversion.

One of the leading benefits with a garage conversion would be that the space can be changed quickly for the extra room you need, regardless of whether it's for a growing family or simply just to add to the price of your house.

A garage conversion suggests you won't need to relocate for extra space, which may help save a lot of money on solicitor fees, estate agent payments and stamp duty. And the extra space can be transformed into what you need, no matter if it's an extension to the living area or kitchen, or perhaps a separate room completely.

With the structure already in position it's clear that a garage conversion is going to be cheaper than creating an extension also, and won't consume valuable space in your garden. With the outside unlikely to change as well, it's a great way to get around restrictions for conservation areas as well as listed buildings.

If you are interested in converting your garage, look at prices from companies in Studley using our quick service to obtain the best offer available.

Studley

Studley is a huge village as well as civil parish in the Stratford-on-Avon district of Warwickshire, England. Situated on the western edge of Warwickshire near the boundary with Worcestershire it is 4 miles (6 kilometres) southeast of Redditch as well as 13 miles (21 km) northwest of Stratford-upon-Avon. The Roman road of Ryknild Street, now the A435, passes through the town on its eastern edge, parallel to the River Arrow. The name originates from the Old English leah, being a field or pasture, where steeds, stod, are maintained. Studley is sometimes asserted to be the biggest town in England, however, this is incorrect as it is not even the largest village in Warwickshire. Although Polesworth and also Bulkington are larger, by population, they could be classified as a country. The United Kingdom Census 2001 reported Studley's population as being 6,624, reducing to 5,879 at the 2011 Census.

FAQs

what is a garage conversion?

What is your garage being used for? If your answer is anything besides your vehicle, you’re in the majority in the UK. In the country, according to a research by Admiralty Loans, several home and property owners now use their garage as dumping ground for all sorts of stuffs asides a car. Ultimately, this gives rise to garage conversions as the more or less underutilized space can be converted into a living space which can be more beneficial while also adding more value to the property.

A garage conversion is a fast and relatively affordable route to adding more floor space within your home. It’s basically the act of changing your garage into something other than a storage or a place in which you can park your car. This can be anything from a bedroom to a playroom and anything in between. It’s a great way to provide extra space to allow your family to spread out and have more privacy while still within the walls of your home.

A garage conversion project is a huge one which mostly does not require a planning application so far the conversion is internal. However if you’re planning to increase the garage’s size or change the exterior of your home, or convert your garage into a separate room, then you may require a planning permission before getting started. It’s always wise to consult your local authority before carrying out any work to be on the safer side.

A project of garage conversion’s magnitude is better left to a reliable professional who have the experience when it comes to dealing with building regulations and more. This way, you’d also get to save yourself some headaches and some extra cash which may result from possible costly errors.

Will my garage conversion cause disruption to the rest of the house?

It shouldn’t do. Most companies will do all the interior work first, and the last job to do will be creating the opening from the house to the conversion. A reputable company will make sure they cause as little disruption as possible during this time.

Will I need planning permission or building regulations approval?

You may need planning permission if you are planning a larger extension. All extensions will need building regulations approval. An architect can assist with this and if planning permission is required. A reputable contractor will also be able to advise you if this is needed as well.

do i need planning permission for a garage conversion?

Are you thinking about converting your garage into a new space? Be it a new bedroom, gym, library or playroom, one thing you’ll have to consider before getting started is whether or not you’re going to require a planning permission. Unlike extensions that needs additional space, garage conversion is all about changing the existing structure of a space that’s already available to you - your garage. As a result, these projects are mostly covered by a planning policy that’s a bit different.

For a garage conversion, it’s very unlikely that you’ll need a planning permission. As a matter of fact, only 10 percent of garage conversions has been estimated to need a full planning permission, with the others coming under the permitted development rights. The permitted development rights, however, only provides coverage for home improvements that’s internal which implies that so far you’re not trying to enlarge your garage, you’ll not require a planning permission. But if otherwise, you’ll have to submit an application before commencing your project.

If you’re looking to comply with the permitted development rights, then your project must comply with some specific guidelines. These rules include the following:

• The work should be internal. No plans to enlarge or extend the existing garage.

• You should make sure that the materials used in carrying out the garage conversion is the same with the materials used in building the existing house.

• The building should not be extended.

You may, however, require a planning permission if you’re going to change a detached garage into a living space which could be a bedroom, small annexe or a living room.

Some houses excluded from the permitted development rights include flats, listed buildings, some new developments and most homes in a conservation area.
