Yarm
Yarm is a village in North Yorkshire, England. The community is on the south financial institution of the River Tees and also is traditionally part of the North Riding of Yorkshire. The bridge at Yarm marked the outermost reach of tidal flow up the River Tees until the opening, in 1995, of the Tees Battery, which currently controls river circulation over Stockton. As the last bridge on the river prior to the sea, it was superseded by a new toll bridge opened up in Stockton in 1771. The oldest part of the town, around the High Street, is situated in a loop of the river, and also the newer parts of the community extend to the factor where the River Leven satisfies the River Tees. The town is regulated as part of the District of Stockton-on-Tees.
