Isle Of Barra
Barra is an island in the Outer Hebrides, Scotland, as well as the second southernmost populated island there, after the adjacent island of Vatersay to which it is linked by a short embankment. The island is named for Saint Finbarr of Cork. In 2011, the population was 1,174. Gaelic is commonly talked, as well as at the 2011 Census, there were 761 Gaelic speakers (62% of the population). The Isle of Barra is roughly 60 km2 (23 sq mi) in area, 11 miles (18 kilometres) lengthy and 6 miles (10 km) large. To the north a sandy pensinsula goes to the coastline flight terminal and Eoligarry.
