Lairg
Lairg is a village as well as parish in Sutherland, Scotland. It has a population of 891 and is at the south-eastern end of Loch Shin. Lairg is unusual in the northern Highlands, otherwise special, in being a huge negotiation that is not on the shore. Among the factors that Lairg is slightly bigger than various other non-coastal Highland towns is its main place within the region of Sutherland. Having four roads which meet in the town, it used to be referred to as "The Crossroads of the North". In the 19th century, it was provided with a train station, on what is currently the Far North Line. This advancement indicates that the north-west of Sutherland is currently simpler to reach. (The Far North Line links Inverness in the south with Thurso and also Wick in the north.).
