Dalton-in-furness
Dalton-in-Furness is a town of 8,125 people, north eastern of Barrow-in-Furness, in Cumbria, England. It is the second largest negotiation in the Borough of Barrow-in-Furness after Barrow itself as well as is most noted for being the place of South Lakes Safari Zoo. Dalton is pointed out in the Domesday Book, composed as "Daltune" as one of the territories forming the Manor of Hougun held by Tostig Godwinson, Earl of Northumbria. Historically, it was the funding of Furness. The ancient parish of Dalton covered the location which is currently inhabited by the Borough of Barrow-in-Furness. The town is now in the civil church of Dalton Community with Newton. Historically a part of Lancashire, the community is connected with a number of renowned artists, consisting of George Romney.
