Tonypandy
Tonypandy is a town as well as community located in the county district of Rhondda Cynon Taf, within the historic county borders of Glamorgan, Wales, lying in the Rhondda Fawr Valley. A former commercial coal mining town, today Tonypandy is best called the website of the 1910 Tonypandy riots. Tonypandy implies fulling mill lea, from Welsh heap (antiquated tonnau) for lea, layland, pasture, meadow or unploughed land; pannu for fulling as well as ty for residence (cf. pandy).
