Amersham

Amersham is a market town and civil parish within the Chiltern district within the English county of Buckinghamshire. It is situated within the Chiltern Hills, 27 miles northwest of London, 15 miles from Aylesbury and 13 miles from High Wycombe. It forms part of the London commuter belt because of its proximity to London. There's a chalk stream that runs via the town, though it often is dried up through the year. The river is in a big valley that is certainly bigger than is possible for the River Misbourne to reduce, which means that it is a misfit stream. The origins of the town can be dated back to a time before the Anglo-Saxon period, and it's referred to in the Domesday Book of 1086. In 1200, the Earl of Essex was granted a charter for Amersham, which permitted for the running of a market on Fridays and also a fair in September. One more charter, obtained in 1613, changed the market day to Tuesday and established a statute fair on 19th September. Up until the coming of the Metropolitan Railway in 1892, the area of the town presently known as Amersham on the Hill was known as Amersham Common. From this date, the town started to expand. There are several parks open to people for sporting and recreational use. The town is also home to Amersham Town F.C., who play football at Spratley's Meadow in Old Amersham. Amersham contains a Grade II listed building, 'High and Over House', which was developed with an art deco style by the architect Amyas Connell in 1931. For all your home upgrades, ensure that you employ trustworthy experts in Amersham to make sure you get the best quality.

How To Remove Flaking Paint From Exterior Walls

For a successful exterior wall painting project, all that’s required is the right painting tools and equipments, the appropriate exterior paint as well as the necessary preparation of the surface. With the later being perhaps the most important part of the project which is likely to take your time and effort as there’s no short cut to it. But once you have a good idea on how to prepare the exterior wall’s surfaces, the painting of the exterior of your house becomes a lot easier. And a good example of this, is the process of removing the flaking paint on the surface. Fortunately, you do not require the skills of an expert to be able to remove the flaking paint from your exterior walls. So let’s take a look at how you can remove flaking paint from your exterior walls with relative ease.

✓ Clear all flaking or peeling paint. This involves scraping the entire painted surface with a scraper to remove all loose paints. For the paints that wouldn’t yield easily, you can apply extra pressure to wipe it out. However, it’s important to be careful while doing this to avoid gouging out or damaging the surface.

✓ Use coarse sandpaper. Make use of a sandpaper to sand all the exterior wall’s surfaces until they’re smooth. When you get to tight spaces and trim, you can incorporate a sanding block to make your job easier and more effective. Note that a smoother surface will make for a better adhesion.

✓ Use an orbital or power sander. If the paint is peeling, you can scrape it off perfectly with the help of a power sander. This will help you in achieving a smooth surface on inaccessible edges and more.
