Kinlochleven
Kinlochleven is a village located in Lochaber, in the Scottish Highlands and also lies at the eastern end of Loch Leven. To the north lie the Mamores ridge; to the south lie the hills flanking Glen Coe. The town was formed from two formerly different little communities - Kinlochmore to the north of the River Leven in Inverness-shire and also Kinlochbeg to the south of the Leven in Argyll - complying with the construction of an aluminium smelter as well as connected housing for its workers. The processing plant was powered by a hydroelectric scheme positioned in the hills above, and also made Kinlochleven the first town on the planet to have every house attached to electrical power, coining the phrase "The Electric Village". In 1991, the town (according to yearly census returns) had simply over 1000 citizens in some 420 houses. Today it is a significant vacationer destination and centre for mountain quests.
