Wemyss Bay
Wemyss Bay is a town on the coastline of the Firth of Clyde in Inverclyde in the west central Lowlands of Scotland. It is in the conventional area of Renfrewshire. It adjoins Skelmorlie, North Ayrshire. The villages have always been in different areas, split by the Kelly Burn. Wemyss Bay is the port for ferries on the Sea Road to Rothesay on the Isle of Bute. Passengers from the island can connect to Glasgow by trains, which terminate in the village at the impressive Wemyss Bay railway station, noted for its architectural high qualities and also considered as among Scotland's finest railway buildings. The port is very subjected, so in high winds the ferryboats need to take a trip up river to Gourock to dock.
