Situated in Staffordshire in the West Midlands, Abbots Bromley is a small historic village. It is well-known for its annual Horn Dance which takes place on Wakes Monday, the day after the first Sunday following 4th September. The Horn Dance is a folk dance from the Middle Ages where members dance through the village. In 2001, Abbots Bromley had a population of 1,799. The village can be traced back to 942, and is documented in the Domesday Book.
Abbots Bromley lies 6.8 miles south west of Uttoxeter. The closest railway station is at Rugeley which is 5.8 miles south west of the village. 1.8 miles from the centre of the village is the Blithfield Reservoir, which is a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
Abbots Bromley also shows the natural features of Bagot's Wood and the most vast remaining part of the Needwood Forest, an ancient forest eradicated at the end of the 18th century.
