Driveway Cleaning in Fakenham

Driveway cleansing is an essential component of keeping a drive and keeping it looking as if it has just been laid. As opposed to ensuring the driveway lasts as long as it should, as is the instance with maintenance cleaning is simply for aesthetic gain. It is also advisable to have this done properly, in order to prevent of the mistakes made if it is a Do It Yourself task, such as the stripy lines that can be left by residential jet cleaning. Due to its consistent usage, a driveway quickly ends up being unclean, however block paving can additionally be quite at risk to moss as well as weeds. Tire marks, brake dust as well as oil staining all gather throughout basic usage. Expert jet washing machines are normally able to get rid of all of these issues. If required, sealants can be used later on to reduce future maintenance.

FAQs

How to clean paving slabs?

There are several effective ways to clean paving slabs. It’s important to pick a method that suits you and your paving material.

Whatever method you use, start by removing all weeds and loose debris from your paving. Then, if you have a pressure washer, you can simply use this to clean away any dirt.

If you don’t have a pressure washer, you can try using soapy water or watered-down bleach. If you use soapy water, mix a mild detergent like washing up liquid with warm water. Then pour it onto your paving, work it in with a brush and rinse it off with clean water.

If you use bleach, first make sure that the water won’t drain off onto any plant life, as this can kill it. You should also avoid using bleach on concrete slabs, as it will cause them to fade. Mix one-part bleach with five-parts water, pour it onto your paving and work it in with a brush. Then leave it for 15 minutes and rinse it off with clean water.

How to clean block paving?

Cleaning block paving is a fairly straightforward task, although you’ll want to be careful to not use any chemicals that may cause damage to the surface. Use a simple household soap, mixed with water, and brush this across the paving with a stiff brush. Then, simply rinse off with clean water. Alternatively, use a pressure washer – but be careful not to use it on a powerful setting, as this may damage the joints and can cause slabs to come loose. Using the pressure washer on a medium setting and at a 45 degree angle is recommended.

How to clean a concrete driveway with bleach?

If your concrete driveway’s looking grubby, it’s best to try cleaning it with water and a brush, or a mild detergent. However, if this doesn’t work, it can be worth trying bleach.

Dilute your bleach down to 50% bleach and 50% water, and apply it to your driveway. Leave it for 10 minutes, then scrub it using gloves and a stiff brush. Finish by rinsing your driveway off with clean water.

It’s important to remember that bleach can stain certain surfaces and kill plants. So, if you’re concerned about materials and boarders around your driveway, it might be best to use a different type of detergent, like floor cleaner or degreaser.

How to clean block paving without a pressure washer?

While many professionals will recommend a pressure washer to clean block paving, it’s possible to clean your paving without one – just scrub the affected areas with a firm bristled brush and use plenty of soap. Then, rinse off the area with clean water.
