North Berwick
North Berwick is a seaside town and former royal burgh in East Lothian, Scotland. It is positioned on the south shore of the Firth of Forth, around 20 miles (32 km) east-northeast of Edinburgh. North Berwick came to be a fashionable vacation resort in the 19th century because of its 2 sandy bays, the East (or Milsey) Bay as well as the West Bay, and remains to bring in holidaymakers. Golf links at the ends of each bay are open to visitors. The dimension and population of the town remained rather consistent up until the 1970s, whereupon housebuilding began in earnest around the periphery of the town, first to the south (1950s-- 70s), after that a collection of major developments to the west (1980s-present) along the line of the railway. There is talk of further advancements concentrating on "affordable housing" on the south side of the community. While the population may not have genuinely "blew up", house prices have. North Berwick constantly appears at the top of national house rate surveys, as well as like-for-like costs are comparable to Edinburgh. North Berwick was detailed as one of the most expensive seaside community in Scotland in 2006, and also was 2nd to St. Andrews in 2009.
