Marlborough
Marlborough is a market community and civil church in the English area of Wiltshire on the Old Bath Road, the old main road from London to Bath. It flaunts the 2nd best high street in Britain, after Stockton-on-Tees. The town is on the River Kennet, 24 miles (39 km) north of Salisbury as well as 10 miles (16 kilometres) south-southeast of Swindon. Marlborough has an oceanic climate rather affected by its inland placement as well as at 124 metres' elevation is much more susceptible to frost than southerly seaside areas. In 2004 Marlborough commemorated 800 years of its Town Charter. Among the celebrations were a street play by the Marlborough Players labelled Wheels of Time, and also a visit from HRH Prince Charles.
