Tonypandy
Tonypandy is a community and neighborhood situated in the region district of Rhondda Cynon Taf, within the historical area borders of Glamorgan, Wales, lying in the Rhondda Fawr Valley. A previous industrial coal mining town, today Tonypandy is best known as the website of the 1910 Tonypandy riots. Tonypandy implies fulling mill lea, from Welsh heap (antiquated tonnau) for lea, layland, pasture, grassland or unploughed land; pannu for fulling and ty for residence (cf. pandy).
