Mountain Ash
Mountain Ash is a community (and also former area) in the Cynon Valley, within the County Borough of Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales. At the 2001 census, Mountain Ash had a population of 7,039 raising to 7,374 at the 2011 Census. The Mountain Ash geographical area incorporates and also consists of the areas and towns of Cefnpennar, Cwmpennar, Caegarw, Darranlas, Fernhill, Glenboi as well as Newtown. Mountain Ash lies within the historical region limits of Glamorgan. The community exists regarding 4.5 miles southern of the community of Aberdare and roughly 19 miles northwest of Cardiff. The town as well as community of Penrhiwceiber exists around a mile south of Mountain Ash. From an administrative perspective, Mountain Ash is split into two electoral wards: Mountain Ash West thinks about the community centre, along with the districts of Miskin, Darranlas, Fernhill and Glenboi; Mountain Ash East comprises the remaining districts of Cefnpennar, Cwmpennar, Caegarw as well as Newtown.
