Cockermouth
Cockermouth is an old market town and civil parish in the Borough of Allerdale in Cumbria, England, so called since it goes to the assemblage of the River Cocker as it streams into the River Derwent. The mid-2010 census price quotes specify that Cockermouth has a population of 8,204, raising to 8,761 at the 2011 Census. Historically a part of Cumberland, Cockermouth is located outside the English Lake District on its northwest fringe. Much of the building core of the community remains the same since the basic middle ages format was completed the 18th and also 19th centuries. The regenerated market location is now a central historic focus within the community as well as shows events from its 800-year background. The town is prone to flooding and also experienced serious floodings in 2005, 2009, and 2015.
