Caersws
Caersws is a village and community on the River Severn, in the Welsh region of Powys (Montgomeryshire) 5 miles (8 kilometres) west of Newtown, as well as midway in between Aberystwyth and Shrewsbury. It has a station on the Cambrian Line from Aberystwyth to Shrewsbury. At the 2001 census it had a population of 1,526, increasing slightly to 1,586 at the 2011 Census. In contemporary Welsh, Caersws literally indicates "Fort Kiss", although sws almost certainly stems from some other source. It has actually been argued that the site might maintain a Roman-era commitment to Zeus or protect the name of a conjectured British queen Swswen.
