New front door and side panel with a half window
Do you need to upgrade your front door? There are lots of options available to you but none of them as preferred as composite doors. So why is this particular type of door the nation’s most popular and why should you think about it for your own home?
There are many reasons to pick out a composite door. To start with they look amazing and there's a wide range of choice in the style and design to choose from. If you want a modern-day overall appeal then you can get exactly that, with contemporary designs to go together with the times. But if you want the appeal of traditional front doors, you can also find Victorian, Georgian and Edwardian designs from which to choose.
On top of this you can choose a colour that perfectly complements your household. Whether you go for a traditional white or black front door, or might have a preference for the daring red, blue or green, the final decision is yours.
But how about the composite door’s other features? Along with a strong look and feel, you take advantage of superb insulation and a hardwearing, resistant installation. The construction of the door makes sure heat is unable to pass thorough and exit your property, decreasing your expensive energy expenses.
Composite doors are produced to resist impacts and the weather too, lasting for decades with virtually no maintenance. A GRP (Glass reinforced plastic) skin enables you to protect the front door ensuring it continues to look great for quite some time to come.
The average cost of Composite front doors is £950. Costs alter based upon the materials and the firm chosen. The upper price range can be as high as £1092.5. The material costs are normally about £237.5

Bridgnorth is a town inside the English county of Shropshire. Resting on the Severn Valley, it is split into High Town and Low Town. The names of these two areas refer to their elevations relative to the River Severn, which divides the upper town on the right bank from the less elevated one to the left. As recorded in the 2011 Census, the population of Bridgnorth is roughly 12,000, which has increased slightly from the around 11,900 recorded during the time of the 2001 Census. Bridgnorth features a cliff railway, the Castle Hill Railway, which links the high and low towns. This is the steepest and only inland railway of this type in the country. Along with this, is the Bridgnorth Railway Station, which sits in the High Town on the Severn Valley Railway, which runs southwards to Kidderminster. The ruins of Bridgnorth Castle, built in 1101, have still never been found in the town. As a result of damage caused during the English Civil War, the castle is said to be inclined at an angle of 15 degrees. High Town is dominated by two Church of England churches. St. Mary's Church, a church developed and constructed in the style of the late eighteenth century by Thomas Telford, is still used for worship. St. Leonard's used to be collegiate, and Bridgnorth was a Royal Peculiar till 1856. It was renovated, but it is no longer used for standard worship. It continues to have several uses in the community and it comes under the stewardship of by the Churches Conservation Trust. There are several sports opportunities for those living in Bridgnorth, and it's famous in Shropshire for featuring the most successful table tennis club in the county. Composite front doors offer a wide range of benefits which includes numerous style and colour options, increased security, personalization options, durability as well as low maintenance requirements. However, with so many options available in the market, it’s also expected that the prices would vary greatly depending on many factors. These factors include the colour, style of the composite door, glazing option, door furniture as well as security locks.
• Colour - More popular and basic colours like white, blue and brown black are manufactured in mass, making them a bit lesser than the unusual colours as they usually go through an expensive colour mixing process.
• Style Of The Door - The most common and popular door styles are manufactured in large quantities and consequently, the cheaper option than the more complex styles. A good example is the six panel door that features two frosted glass inlays will definitely cost more than the four panel plain white composite door.
• Glazing Option - The glass type, design and panel size all play a huge role in determining the price. The more complex your glazing option is, the more money you’ll have to pay.
• Door Furniture - Several composite doors come with bespoke handles, letterplates and knockers to achieve your desired finish. The furniture additions on door can also play a huge role in influencing the overall cost of your composite door.
• Security Locks - Multi point locks typically comes as a standard. However, you might need to determine the type required by your as the quality and type can vary considerably.
Generally, to have a basic style composite door installed, you’ll have spend about £850 and above. And depending on the design requirements and glazing features you select, this price can increase significantly.
When it comes to the installation of an external door in your home or property, you’ll be indulged with a plethora of styles and options available in the market today. But as you would have imagined, not all of these options and styles are created equal. Not all can match the security and quality standards of a composite door. A door’s quality is greatly influenced by a wide variety of factors such as the materials incorporated as well as the overall design. For instance, going for a door made with low quality materials can as well be synonymous with leaving your door open while going out.
Composite doors are modern type of door used in homes in recent times. They’ve been design to combat the common flaws identified in singular material doors. The door puts together a perfect mix of materials which have been singled out due to their beneficial properties and effectively taps out the “old flaws. Composite doors are known to be highly resistant to weather conditions, no matter how extreme and unlike singular material doors, it does not react quickly to seasonal changes. And as a result of the insulating foam core of composite doors, they possess a higher thermal resistance than wooden doors.
Generally, a composite door is designed in such a way that makes it look as a wooden door featuring a very alluring wood grain. With the exceptional quality of the materials incorporated, the colours won’t fade, no discolouration will take place and ultimately, it doesn’t require much more than wiping with a damp cloth when it’s dirty as maintenance activity. In conclusion, composite doors are greatly designed modern doors which are manufactured using various materials. The premium quality provided by composite doors is unrivalled in the door industry.
A composite door is a valuable investment any homeowner would be glad to make due to its numerous benefits. Not only are they super energy efficient and good looking, but also exceptional when it comes to keeping your house warm and guaranteeing your safety and maximum security. They come in wide range of styles, colours as well as personalization options, which makes them one of the most popular and strongest door you can find in the market today. However, the question that hangs over the mind of many potential investors is how fade resistant are composite doors? Would the visual appeal remain intact for a long period of time or fade away after a few years of exposure to intense sun?
The last thing any homeower would want to see is a priced asset looking dull and tired only after a couple of years after installation. Owners of timber doors worry about having to re paint every couple of years. UPVC door owners worry that their doors can, at times, start to fade when exposed to a strong and intense sunlight. So what exactly do composite door owners worry about? The simple answer is absolutely nothing! Proud composite door owners only have to do a quick wash with a warm soapy water as upkeep for their long lasting and durable asset. This is because composite doors are typically made from Glass Reinforced Plastic outer skin which makes them highly resistant to the element. So whether it’s raining heavily or the sun is shining intensely, the colours of your beloved composite door will not fade and will remain exactly the same way it was when purchased. No matter what the UK weather throws at them, the reinforced plastic skin and robust core ensures the door remains water tight and in top condition always.
Unlike several other complex multi choice products, composite door prices are no great mystery. However, it all depends on your personal preferences as well as your budget. There are a variety of customization options and extras, so you can easily select one that’s unique to your home. Composite doors offer you more colours, more styles, a greater choice of accessories as well as more glazing options. With the availability of a plethora of options in the market, it’s very hard to provide a precise price for a composite door as all the options play a significant role in the price structure.
• The Door’s Quality
Composite doors commonly comes with either a CFC-free insulating polyurethane (PU) foam or a laminated hardwood core. The price to be paid will depend on the quality of the composite with the laminated hardwood core being of more quality and ultimately, more expensive.
• Glazing Options
Between a coloured leaded glass double panel and a clear double-glazed panel there’s a huge price difference. And within these two extremes, there are also many other variables.
• Accessories
There are a world of choices when it comes to accessories in terms of the handle styles, letterplates, knockers and more. All playing a role in the price of the composite door.
• Locking System
A common feature of several composite doors is the multi point locking systems. However, the price, choice and security of the lock cylinder can be hugely different which also play a part in the price of the composite door.
• Location
Your geographical location plays an even more important part when you’re having your door installed. For instance, delivery in certain areas in the UK or finding tradesmen comes at a premium which is also shown in the price.
