Kinlochleven
Kinlochleven is a village located in Lochaber, in the Scottish Highlands and lies at the eastern end of Loch Leven. To the north exist the Mamores ridge; to the south lie the mountains flanking Glen Coe. The village was formed from 2 formerly separate little neighborhoods - Kinlochmore to the north of the River Leven in Inverness-shire and Kinlochbeg to the south of the Leven in Argyll - complying with the building and construction of an aluminium smelter as well as linked housing for its workers. The handling plant was powered by a hydroelectric scheme positioned in the hills above, and also made Kinlochleven the initial town on the planet to have every residence attached to electricity, creating the expression "The Electric Village". In 1991, the village (according to yearly census returns) had simply over 1000 citizens in some 420 families. Today it is a noteworthy vacationer location as well as centre for hill quests.
