Lynmouth

Lynmouth is a village in Devon, England, on the northern side of Exmoor. The village straddles the confluence of the West Lyn and East Lyn rivers, in a gorge 700 feet (210 m) below Lynton, which was the only location to broaden to when Lynmouth became as built-up as possible. The villages are linked by the Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway, which functions 2 cable-connected cars and trucks by gravity, using water storage tanks. The two villages are a civil parish controlled by Lynton and Lynmouth Town Council. The parish boundaries expand southwards from the coastline, and consist of districts such as Barbrook as well as tiny moorland negotiations such as East Ilkerton, West Ilkerton and also Shallowford. The South West Coastline Course and Tarka Path travel through, and also the Two Moors Way runs from Ivybridge in South Devon to Lynmouth; the Samaritans Way South West runs from Bristol to Lynton, and the Coleridge Way from Nether Stowey to Lynmouth. Lynmouth was described by Thomas Gainsborough, that honeymooned there with his bride Margaret Burr, as "the most delightful place for a landscape painter this country can boast".

FAQs

Are wireless alarm systems reliable?

Modern wireless alarm systems are as reliable as wired systems. Wireless systems can transmit alerts as quickly and reliably as wired systems. They are also suitable for installation in more places as there does not need to be space to hide the wires.

How many sensors do I need?

The number of sensors you need will depend on the size of your home. Most alarm systems feature 2-4 passive infrared sensors (PIRs) for motion detection, and 2-4 magnetic contact sensors on doors and windows. An alarm company will advise you of how many your property will need upon an inspecton.

Does CCTV work in the dark?

Most cameras have a night mode to capture video in the dark. They use an infrared sensor to detect infrared light. These pictures are black and white, but still retain plenty of detail. Cameras are also able to see and record in adverse conditions such as fog, dust and smoke.

Does CCTV deter crime?

Various studies have suggested that CCTV is an effective deterrent against home burglaries. In the event that a crime is committed on your property, well placed CCTV means you’ll have the evidence to help the police. It has been recorded consistantly that since CCTV systems have been installed, localised crime has fallen and has lead to more arrests.
