Dukinfield is a town in Tameside, Greater Manchester, England. It lies on the south bank of the River Tame opposite Ashton under Lyne, being 6.3 miles east of Manchester. The town developed from being just a modest town with much open land. Its progression happened primarily thanks to the Industrial Revolution, in which it became the site of both coal mining and cotton manufacturing.
