Very good
The heating system is among the most crucial parts of your property. Your boiler gives you heat and hot water throughout the year and the odds are you take little notice of it. Why would you if it's churning out heat throughout the year without having a problem?
But exactly how costly are your energy costs? Do you know replacing your central heating boiler could save you over £300 a year on bills because of the improved performance? If your boiler is more than 10-years old, then the chances are there's a massive saving to make.
Nonetheless, paying for a brand new central heating boiler isn't the cheapest of household improvements. It's not the priciest either, and you can be looking at between £1,500 and £2,000 for a very efficient combination boiler.
To help overcome this initial cost you may think about central heating boiler finance. With finance you'll pay a regular monthly fee for however long you choose to cover the price of the central heating boiler. This may be as little as 12 months and certainly helps people who can't pay the total one-off payment.
If your central heating boiler breaks down abruptly also, you might like to think about boiler finance with no funds quickly available in the bank. Boiler finance is ideal and although there is a small interest rate, it's a practical alternative.
The average cost of replacing your gas boiler is £2,500. Costs differ based on the type and brand of boiler you choose as well as the provider you decide to go with. For example, a small local business may be able to offer a better price than a large national tradesman as they will have fewer overheads. Itâs best to get a range of quotes from different boiler engineers so you can compare prices, reviews and references before going ahead.

Leek is a market town and civil parish in the English county of Staffordshire. Located on the River Churnet, it is 10 miles north east of Stoke-on-Trent. It is an ancient borough and was granted a royal charter in 1214. Most of the town is at or higher than 180 metres above sea level, and it is encircled by the countryside of the Staffordshire Moorlands, which is located on the southern uplands of the Pennines. It is the administrative base for the Staffordshire Moorlands District Council. The town was built on the slope and crown of a hill, and it is at the foot of the Peak District National Park. The town is, as a result, considered as the 'Gateway to the Peak District', alongside being frequently called the 'Queen of the Moorlands'. It has a long background of being a market town, with the right to host a weekly market and an annual week-long fair being approved by King John in 1207. Numerous buildings dating from the Victorian period remain standing in the town, and numerous of these were developed by the architectural practice of the Sugdens, 'Sugden and Sons'. William Sugden arrived in Leek in 1849, brought over thanks to his work on the design of the train stations in the Churnet Valley Railway. Notable structures include the Congregational Church, Myatt; s Mill, Mill Street Methodist Chapel and Ragged School, and West Street School. Their effect of their styles on the town continues to be profound. Other regional attractions are the regional football club, Leek Town F.C., Alton Towers theme park, and Rudyard Lake Steam Railway near Rudyard Lake. For all your house upgrades, make certain to make use of reliable professionals in Leek to make certain of quality.

A boiler is simply the most important part of a central heating system as it generates the heat that warms up the home or property. Basically, the appliance or small furnace makes use of gas, LPG or oil in order to fuel its operation. However in the UK, most boilers are usually fuelled by natural gas which is supplied automatically from the national gas grid. And depending on how it operates, there are various types of boilers.
Typically, a gas central heating boiler will have multiple pipes entering from underneath. While one pipe supplies the boiler with gas from the mains gas supply, another pipe allows cold water to enter the boiler to be heated, the last pipe then enables hot water to exit the boiler so it can be distributed around the home.
✓ There are fuel jets and heat exchangers inside the boiler. When the heating is turned on, a valve is opened to allow the mains supply gas to enter a sealed combustion chamber in the boiler. There are multiple little valves which permit the entry of the gas before being ignited by an electric ignition switch. These jets heat a metal component in the boiler known as a heat exchanger which works to transfer the heat to the cold water pipe and heat up the water.
✓ Once the water has been heated to the target temperature, it’s then pumped through a circuit of pipe which runs around your home by an electric pump.
✓ The heated water enter each radiator, is then transmitted via a closed loop and radiates heat into each room.
✓ Once done travelling through all radiators, the water then returns to the boiler at which it must have been cooled. Therefore, the boiler will have to reheat following the same process before circulating. The water can only be drained by a professional Gas Safe engineer
Condensing boilers are the in-thing when it comes to modern heating systems in UK homes and across the globe for a good reason. This is primarily due to the fact that condensing boilers happens to be highly efficient as it enables the fuel you’re burning to heat up your home go a lot further. Having a new high efficiency condensing boiler rather than an old G-rated non condensing boiler will not only enhance your heating controls, but also save you a lot of money annually. In this article, we’re going to take you through the basics of a condensing boiler. Let’s take a closer look!
If you’re interested in getting a greener and more efficient boiler, you simply can’t afford to look beyond a high efficiency condensing boiler. This is purely due to the fact that these condensing boilers happens to make a better use of the heat they’re able to produce from burning fuels like oil or gas ( in other words, they require less heat from the burner, which makes them a lot more efficient).
So how does a condensing boiler work? Unlike a non-condensing heat-nly boiler, some heat will be wasted in form of hot gases which are released from the flue. Meanwhile a condensing boiler captures some of the heat from these gases and puts them to use for heating up water that’s coming back from your central heating system. As a result, it requires just a minimal heat from the burner which make the boiler more efficient.
You should take note that all new modern boilers are condensing boilers. Therefore if you’re planning to replace an old boiler with a new one, you’ll definitely be buying a new condensing boiler and benefit from all the efficiency and savings that comes with it.
When it comes to gas boilers, this is one of the most frequent questions that always pops up and for a good reason. When you invest a considerable amount of money to acquire and install a gas boiler in your home or property, it’s only reasonable not only to expect the boiler to warm up your home efficiently, but also to do so for a long period of time. If you’ve just bought or about to get a new gas boiler, it’s likely you won’t have to worry about getting a replacement for a lengthy period of time. Several gas boilers will last for anywhere between 10 to 15 years on the average. However in the event whereby you have an existing one that’s fast approaching the end of it’s useful life, then you should know the time go get a new gas boiler is just around the corner, and the earlier you make the purchase, the better (to avoid any surprise breakdowns that’ll leave your home super uncomfortable).
Just like any other home appliance, it’s a fact that an older gas boiler ( especially those that have been installed over a decade ago) are significantly less efficient that the new modern ones. When the older versions were manufactured is a completely different time to now as both technology and climate concerns are wide apart. So when your existing boiler is approaching the end of it’s useful life, it’ll be wise to start saving up to cover the cost of getting a new one. However, if it’s only about 5 years ago your boiler was installed, it’s highly likely to still be very efficient.
If your boiler is making strange noises or smells, or doesn’t seem to be working properly, it may need replacing. Boilers usually last about 10-15 years. Even if your boiler is working normally, it’s worth replacing when it gets this old. An annual check will establish if there are terminal problems with a boiler that cannot be fixed.
