Heating | Gas | Boiler Replacement in Birmingham
Very good
The heating system is among the most crucial parts of your house. Your boiler offers you heat and hot water throughout the year and the odds are you take little notice of it. Why would you if it's churning out warmth throughout the year without having a problem?
But how pricey are your energy costs? Are you aware that changing your boiler could save you over £300 a year on bills because of the improved performance? If your central heating boiler is in excess of 10-years old, then the likelihood is there's a massive saving to make.
Nevertheless, investing in a new boiler isn't the most affordable of home improvements. It's not the most costly either, and you can be looking at in between £1,500 and £2,000 for a very efficient combination boiler.
To help beat this initial cost you may consider boiler finance. With finance you'll pay a regular monthly fee for however long you decide to cover the cost of the boiler. This might be as little as 12 months and of course helps people who can't afford the entire one-off payment.
In case your boiler breaks down suddenly as well, you might want to consider boiler finance without the money quickly accessible in the bank. Boiler finance is ideal and even though there exists a small interest payment, it's a helpful option.
The average cost of replacing your gas boiler is £2,500. Costs differ based on the type and brand of boiler you choose as well as the provider you decide to go with. For example, a small local business may be able to offer a better price than a large national tradesman as they will have fewer overheads. Itâs best to get a range of quotes from different boiler engineers so you can compare prices, reviews and references before going ahead.

The town of Blaydon-on-Tyne is positioned in the North East of England in the Metropolitan Borough of Gateshead. It was initially in County Durham. Referring to the 2011 Census, the town has a population of roughly 15,155, which is a considerable increase from the about 14,500 people noted in the 2001 Census. Blaydon experienced an intensive programme of housing regeneration between 2009 and 2014. This consisted of the construction of new developments at High View on the Winlaton-Blaydon border, by the riverside on the location of the former Stella South power station, and at Axwell Gardens, close to the already existing Axwell Park estate. Originally, the powerhouse of the Industrial Revolution in Gateshead, Blaydon's traditional business is coal mining. On account of the decline of mining in the 1950s and 1960s, Blaydon now features a more diversified economy. The majority of the town's residents are involved in engineering and manufacturing, as well as having a small amount of commuting professionals. Several organisations work in the premises in Blaydon Haughs, referred to as 'The Spike', which is within the banks of the River Tyne. There are many shopping opportunities for residents in Blaydon's shopping centre, called the precinct. A brutalist structure from the 1970s, it includes the majority of the town's major stores, which are mostly branches of commercial chain stores, along with food and grocery outlets. The town also features a range of landmarks. Stella Hall, dating back to 1143 when there was a nunnery on the site, is a listed building, and Anxwell Hall, constructed in 1761, is set to be converted into residential residences. For all your property upgrades, make sure that you select reputable pros in Blaydon-on-Tyne to ensure you get a great quality service.

The A-G scale refers to the energy efficiency of your boiler. G-rated boilers are the least efficient, and give you less heat and hot water for your money. Installing an A-rated boiler will reduce your energy bills and carbon emissions. Don't compromise on cheaper, lower rated boilers, you will save yourself more money longer term with an A-rated model.
When it comes to gas boilers, this is one of the most frequent questions that always pops up and for a good reason. When you invest a considerable amount of money to acquire and install a gas boiler in your home or property, it’s only reasonable not only to expect the boiler to warm up your home efficiently, but also to do so for a long period of time. If you’ve just bought or about to get a new gas boiler, it’s likely you won’t have to worry about getting a replacement for a lengthy period of time. Several gas boilers will last for anywhere between 10 to 15 years on the average. However in the event whereby you have an existing one that’s fast approaching the end of it’s useful life, then you should know the time go get a new gas boiler is just around the corner, and the earlier you make the purchase, the better (to avoid any surprise breakdowns that’ll leave your home super uncomfortable).
Just like any other home appliance, it’s a fact that an older gas boiler ( especially those that have been installed over a decade ago) are significantly less efficient that the new modern ones. When the older versions were manufactured is a completely different time to now as both technology and climate concerns are wide apart. So when your existing boiler is approaching the end of it’s useful life, it’ll be wise to start saving up to cover the cost of getting a new one. However, if it’s only about 5 years ago your boiler was installed, it’s highly likely to still be very efficient.
If your boiler is making strange noises or smells, or doesn’t seem to be working properly, it may need replacing. Boilers usually last about 10-15 years. Even if your boiler is working normally, it’s worth replacing when it gets this old. An annual check will establish if there are terminal problems with a boiler that cannot be fixed.
Re-pressurising your boiler means that you allow more water to enter system via the filling loop. It can be easy to re-pressurise your boiler yourself. Always check your manual, but there are some simple steps you can take to restore pressure to your boiler:
• Switch off your boiler and let it cool completely
• Make sure both ends of your filling loop are attached
• Open both valves to allow cold water into the system – you’ll hear it start to move
• Look out for your pressure gauge to show 1.5 bar
• Close both valves
• Switch your boiler back on
• Undo both ends of your filling loop and remove it. Remember some water might come out, so be ready to catch some spillage!
