Heating | Gas | Boiler Replacement in Birmingham
Very good
The heating system is amongst the most vital areas of your own home. Your boiler offers you heat and hot water all year long and the odds are you take little notice of it. Why would you if it's churning out heat all through the year without a problem?
But exactly how costly are your energy costs? Did you know that changing your boiler will save you over £300 a year on bills as a result of enhanced performance? If your boiler is over 10-years old, then the odds are there's a massive saving to be made.
Nonetheless, purchasing a new boiler isn't the cheapest of property improvements. It's not the most expensive either, and you could be looking at in between £1,500 and £2,000 for a very efficient combi central heating boiler.
To help combat this initial cost you may consider central heating boiler finance. With finance you'll pay back a monthly fee for however long you want to cover the cost of the central heating boiler. This might be as few as 12 months and definitely helps people who can't afford the full one-off payment.
In the event that your central heating boiler stops working all of a sudden as well, you might like to think of boiler finance without the funds readily available in the bank. Boiler finance is perfect and even though there is a small interest charge, it's a helpful option.
The average cost of replacing your gas boiler is £2,500. Costs differ based on the type and brand of boiler you choose as well as the provider you decide to go with. For example, a small local business may be able to offer a better price than a large national tradesman as they will have fewer overheads. Itâs best to get a range of quotes from different boiler engineers so you can compare prices, reviews and references before going ahead.

Aberdovey, or Aberdyfi in Welsh, is a community in Gwynedd, on the west cost of Wales. It was originally a shipbuilding village, but is now a popular seaside resort with high quality beaches. It had a population of 1282 in 2011.
The town centre is along the river and seafront, but it stretches back far from the coast and up the hillside. The town is situated in the Snowdonia National Park, making it attractive to tourists. Many residents from the West Midlands visit there, as it is less than 100 miles to the east of Aberdyfi. There are many activities to do along the beach, including sailing, kitesurfing and dinghy racing.
It is likely that the community has had a setttlement for a long time. There is evidence that the Romans made a track into Aberdyfi as part of their occupation of Wales in AD 78. Pen-y-Bryn, the hill in the centre of Aberdyfi, is claimed to be the site of the fortifications built in the 1150s. These were soon destroyed.
If your property in Aberdyfi requires a new boiler, make sure you get a range of quotes from respected installers.

A combination boiler, also referred to as a “combi boiler, delivers both domestic hot water and space heating in a single package so as to save space, and in a lot of cases, money. These great features makes the appliance a very popular choice in UK homes and in fact, it represents more than 50 percent of all new boilers fitted in the UK on a yearly basis.
Most modern and high efficiency combi boilers are usually stainless steel condensing boilers which normally features an in-built secondary heat exchanger to deliver domestic hot water to a home or property. What’s more? When it comes to the heating season or the cold months, the combi boiler will operated as required to heat a structure and offer hot water for showers, sinks as well as other hot water appliances around the house. And when it gets to the warm season or summer months, the combi boiler will only work when there’s a need for domestic hot water which also helps you save more money.
Combi boilers are able to provide domestic hot water in such a way that’s energy efficient due to two primary reasons - the combi units possess a very high operating efficiency and also have a low internal water volume. As a result, in during the hot summer when space heating is not required, you’ll only have to pay to heat up the hot water that you really need and not an entire tank.
Combi boilers also have the following benefits:
✓ Lower costs. Due to the combined nature of the boiler and the lack of tank in the roof space, the installation time and costs are at a minimum.
✓ Saves space in your home as it effectively combines a central heating boiler with a water heater into one unit.
Re-pressurising your boiler means that you allow more water to enter system via the filling loop. It can be easy to re-pressurise your boiler yourself. Always check your manual, but there are some simple steps you can take to restore pressure to your boiler:
• Switch off your boiler and let it cool completely
• Make sure both ends of your filling loop are attached
• Open both valves to allow cold water into the system – you’ll hear it start to move
• Look out for your pressure gauge to show 1.5 bar
• Close both valves
• Switch your boiler back on
• Undo both ends of your filling loop and remove it. Remember some water might come out, so be ready to catch some spillage!
Condensing boilers are the in-thing when it comes to modern heating systems in UK homes and across the globe for a good reason. This is primarily due to the fact that condensing boilers happens to be highly efficient as it enables the fuel you’re burning to heat up your home go a lot further. Having a new high efficiency condensing boiler rather than an old G-rated non condensing boiler will not only enhance your heating controls, but also save you a lot of money annually. In this article, we’re going to take you through the basics of a condensing boiler. Let’s take a closer look!
If you’re interested in getting a greener and more efficient boiler, you simply can’t afford to look beyond a high efficiency condensing boiler. This is purely due to the fact that these condensing boilers happens to make a better use of the heat they’re able to produce from burning fuels like oil or gas ( in other words, they require less heat from the burner, which makes them a lot more efficient).
So how does a condensing boiler work? Unlike a non-condensing heat-nly boiler, some heat will be wasted in form of hot gases which are released from the flue. Meanwhile a condensing boiler captures some of the heat from these gases and puts them to use for heating up water that’s coming back from your central heating system. As a result, it requires just a minimal heat from the burner which make the boiler more efficient.
You should take note that all new modern boilers are condensing boilers. Therefore if you’re planning to replace an old boiler with a new one, you’ll definitely be buying a new condensing boiler and benefit from all the efficiency and savings that comes with it.
A boiler is simply the most important part of a central heating system as it generates the heat that warms up the home or property. Basically, the appliance or small furnace makes use of gas, LPG or oil in order to fuel its operation. However in the UK, most boilers are usually fuelled by natural gas which is supplied automatically from the national gas grid. And depending on how it operates, there are various types of boilers.
Typically, a gas central heating boiler will have multiple pipes entering from underneath. While one pipe supplies the boiler with gas from the mains gas supply, another pipe allows cold water to enter the boiler to be heated, the last pipe then enables hot water to exit the boiler so it can be distributed around the home.
✓ There are fuel jets and heat exchangers inside the boiler. When the heating is turned on, a valve is opened to allow the mains supply gas to enter a sealed combustion chamber in the boiler. There are multiple little valves which permit the entry of the gas before being ignited by an electric ignition switch. These jets heat a metal component in the boiler known as a heat exchanger which works to transfer the heat to the cold water pipe and heat up the water.
✓ Once the water has been heated to the target temperature, it’s then pumped through a circuit of pipe which runs around your home by an electric pump.
✓ The heated water enter each radiator, is then transmitted via a closed loop and radiates heat into each room.
✓ Once done travelling through all radiators, the water then returns to the boiler at which it must have been cooled. Therefore, the boiler will have to reheat following the same process before circulating. The water can only be drained by a professional Gas Safe engineer
