Gas Boiler (Repair & Servicing) in Enfield

Searching for a combi boiler repair or service in Enfield? Our engineers in Enfield are going to provide you with the top prices for getting a central heating boiler repair or service completed.

Boilers are one of the most crucial areas of any property, giving heat and hot water throughout the year. Therefore any problems must be handled ahead of becoming a major problem.

In the heart of winter it could cost at least £200 just in call-out costs for an engineer. This is prior to a cost of replacing components.

To avoid paying out a lot of money, be sure to have your boiler serviced on an annual basis so any faults could be found as soon as possible. Moreover, having a service assures that your central heating boiler is running effectively, reducing your costs.

The service may also highlight any danger too, like a carbon monoxide leak. Carbon monoxide poisoning is liable for 100s of deaths and hospitalisations annually, so make certain this doesn't happen to you.

We'll provide you approximately 4 engineers, who will provide prices for the work. You'll receive a house visit from specialists within Enfield who will provide the central heating boiler repair or service for a fantastic price.

Average Boiler repair and service cost in Enfield

The regular cost of a boiler service is around £72, but you could pay anything between £58 and £100. The regular cost of a repair is £182 a time, but it depends on the repair. The regular cost of a replacement gas valve or expansion vessel, for example, is £300 each, plus labour of about £50 per hour. National companies may charge more than small local companies since they have more overheads. You’ll also find seasonal differences, as companies charge less in the summer when they are less busy than in the winter when they have lots of work.

Enfield

The London Borough of Enfield is a London borough in north London with a few districts within the borough straddling north-east London, England. It borders the London Boroughs of Barnet (towards the west), Haringey (towards the south) and Waltham Forest (towards the south-east), the districts of Hertsmere (to the north-west), Welwyn Hatfield and Broxbourne (both towards the north) in Hertfordshire, and Epping Forest (towards the east) in Essex. The local authority is Enfield Council. It covers a total area of 31.74 square miles.

Based on population estimates in the middle of 2014, the borough features a permanent population of about 324574 people. The armorial bearings of these three boroughs have been also merged. The heraldic beast on the shield of the Enfield coat of arms is identified in heraldry as an 'Enfield', or more colloquially as the 'Enfield beast', and it's utilised extensively as a logo representing Enfield, particularly by the borough council. The Borough's Civic Centre is positioned in Silver Street, Enfield Town and is the location of the Council. Enfield Town is also home to the local credit union, North London Credit Union.

In 2007, Enfield Town centre completed a major redevelopment project. An extension was added to the current retail area with several new shops. In addition to this, a significant redevelopment of Edmonton Green, including the shopping centre, an adjacent municipal housing over a wide area, started in 1999 in order to deliver new housing, health facilities, a new leisure centre, a supermarket, and lots of other civic features.

FAQs

how to fix a boiler?

How To Fix A Boiler

A boiler is subjected to regular usage, working for a several hours a day and providing hot water for shower on a daily basis and even more so during winter. With it’s power and efficiency, we tend to postpone or even totally overlook its maintenance. However, no matter how good your boiler is, it consists of many moving components and it’ll certainly develop some faults some day. When the inevitable occurs, you might want to save some money and get it fixed all by yourself.

When it comes to fixing boilers, seeking help from a licensed heating engineer is usually the best solution, however at times you might be just lucky to be faced with minor issues which you should be able to handle yourself. In this article, we’ll look at some of the most common causes of a broken boiler and how you can get your heating system up and running again. Let’s have a look!

✓ Low system pressure. In the event whereby your boiler display a low system pressure, it could mean that the system is about to breakdown. You’ll have to carry out regular inspections on the pressure gauge to see if there’s any noticeable changes and call in a heating engineer immediately to prevent a system breakdown from happening.

✓ Poor heat production. Although this is unlikely to lead to any great issues, but it’ll reduce the effective functioning of your heating system. To prevent a debris build, it’s important to have your boiler cleaned regularly.

✓ Strange noises. Boilers often make noises, so there’s nothing to worry about unless it’s a banging or whistling noise that’s very odd , then there may be a serious issue. You’ll have to check the air intake, pressure, exhaust and piping to ensure they’re working just fine, if not there may be a need for replacement.

does home insurance cover boiler repairs?

Does Home Insurance Cover Boiler Repairs?

When winter comes, your boiler is most likely to be one of the most used appliances in your home. It keeps operating for several hours to ensure your house remains warm and conducive and then during those cold evenings, it supplies the much needed hot water to guarantee a restive night. But with so much usage and many moving parts, you’d naturally expect your boiler to breakdown at some point especially if it’s 7 years old or above. So what’s the next line of action when it happens, leaving your radiators off and water cold? With the likely high boiler repair cost, it’s only logical to consider whether your boiler repairs is covered by your home insurance.

In almost all situations, the standard home insurance will not provide coverage for the cost of repairing or replacing a broken boiler. Being fully aware that boiler breakdowns are mostly caused by a lack or not so regular maintenance practices or servicing, most home insurance providers will exclude it from this from their offerings. In fact, a home insurance is more likely to provide coverage for the damage that has happened as a result of a broken appliance. For instance, the damage caused as a result of gas, oil or water leaking from a boiler are more likely to be paid for by the home insurance providers, but they’ll not pay for the repair or replacement of the broken boiler itself.

If you need our home insurance to cover your boiler repair, then you might just be able to get an extra insurance cover from your provider that includes a broken boiler repair. You can consult them to determine if this is possible as well as the cost to be paid per month. This will normally cost about £5 to £10 per month, but it gives you a peace of mind knowing you’re covered if your boiler happens to breakdown.

how much is a boiler service?

How Much Is A Boiler Service?

A broken boiler can be a huge pain and even more so if it occurs during the winter months. A cold house and cold shower is not a situation to be handled with levity especially when there are older people or more vulnerable members in the house. To ensure your boiler keeps functioning the way it should for a lengthy period of time, it’s crucial to ensure that you have your boiler serviced on a yearly basis. But while the summer or warmer months happen to be the most cost effective time to have the boiler servicing done, doing it during the depths of winter can go a long way to ensure that you and your loved ones get through the cold without any unwanted occurrence or boiler issues.

Generally, to have your boiler serviced will cost anything within the range of £80 to about £120, but at times, this can even be more depending on a plethora of factors. The servicing cost will be based on the particular company you choose, the type of boiler you possess, as well as your location in the UK. For instance, if you happen to live in London where demands are higher than the other regions, then you’ll most likely have to pay more money to have your boiler serviced than other homeowners facing similar issues but staying in the other lower demand regions.

Asides from hiring a professional to service your boiler on an annual basis, you should also try to help maintain its efficiency and health in between those services. This will not be a substitute to the regular servicing or even make the servicing a lot simpler, but will surely help keep it at a maximum efficiency while also keeping the cost of your heating bills down.

can i repair my own gas boiler?

Can I Repair My Own Gas Boiler?

If you’re more of an handy person, then you’d probably want to fix everything you can around the house while saving yourself some money that would have been spent on hiring a professional instead. This is a very cost effective but at the same time you must know that some tasks are usually more difficult than others, and a good example of those complex tasks is boiler repair. Not only can this be very tough, but they can also potentially be one of the most dangerous home appliances you can acquire. So with that in mind, what can be done to ensure your gas boiler is taken care of and in the event whereby it starts to malfunction, what can be done to remedy the situation?

With regular maintenance and repair of your gas boiler, you’d have absolutely nothing to worry about. However one of the fear several DIYers have is the fact that they might just end up incurring more expenses on services they didn’t really need in the first place. But when it comes to gas boilers, it’s necessary to be certified to work with them as it’s very dangerous to tackle it all by yourself. Despite this, there are still some minor issues that you wouldn’t need to hire a technician to resolve. In some cases, all that would be needed is simply to reset the boiler. To identify where the reset button is, simply go through your boiler’s manual for more information. Most times, all you’ll have to do is press down the reset button for a couple of seconds. If the boiler isn’t fully restored to its normal proper functioning state after two resets, then you may need to call in a professional for help.
