Garve
Garve is a town on the Black Water river, in Ross-shire, and remains in the Highland Council area of Scotland. It is situated 5 miles (8 kilometres) northwest of Contin, on the A835, the main road to Ullapool on the west coast, near to where the A832 branches off towards Achnasheen. The village is served by the Garve train station, on the Kyle of Lochalsh Line, which goes across the A835 road on a level going across. In 1890 Garve was proposed as the starting-point of a train to Ullapool. The town has a primary school and also resort yet no store. The town is within the Garve as well as District Area Council area. Garve as well as District are served by the Garve and District Development Company, a firm developed by the community during 2017.
