Carrbridge
Carrbridge is a town in Badenoch as well as Strathspey in the Scottish Highlands. It exists off the A9 on the A938, west of Skye of Curr, southeast of Tomatin, near Bogroy. It has the earliest stone bridge in the Highlands and the nearby old ache woodland has the Landmark Forest Adventure Park. Carrbridge has to do with 10 kilometres (6 mi) north of Aviemore as well as creates an entrance to the Cairngorms National Forest. It was a very early centre for snowboarding in Scotland. In the 2001 census the village had a population of 708 individuals, with the majority used in tourist. Until the 1980s bypass was constructed, the A9 ran right with the village. Carrbridge is offered by Carrbridge railway station on the Highland Main Line. Regional dispute still rages pertaining to the name Carrbridge itself, with some preferring to see it hyphenated to Carr-bridge. The word "Carr" has nothing to do with motorised transportation however is originated from the Old Norse word for boggy area.
