Bembridge
Bembridge is a village as well as civil parish located on the easternmost point of the Isle of Wight. It had a population of 3,848 according to the 2001 census of the UK, leading to the implausible claim by some homeowners that Bembridge is the biggest town in England. Bembridge is home to most of the Island's most affluent locals. The population had decreased to 3,688 at the 2011 Census. Bembridge sits at the severe eastern point of the Isle of Wight. Prior to land improvement the location of Bembridge as well as Yaverland was nearly an island, separated from the remainder of the Isle of Wight by Brading Haven. On the Joan Blaeu map of 1665, Bembridge is revealed as Binbridge I?le, almost separated from the remainder of Wight by River Yar. Before the Victorian period Bembridge was a collection of wooden huts and also farmhouses, which just consolidated right into a true town with the structure of the church in 1827 (later restored in 1846).
